Welcome to the official website for California District 28 Little League Baseball.

District 28 was created in 1958 as one of the original 33 California Districts. The original District 28 was dissolved in the mid-1980s and re established in 1992.

In Little League, local leagues are organized into Districts. District 28 is comprised of the 8 leagues in the cities of Canyon Lake, Hemet, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Murrieta, Temecula, Temescal Valley and Wildomar.

This website covers all the information that you will need to know about Little League Baseball within District 28 for the up and coming seasons.

Little League California District 28 is an all volunteer organization and is run by district and local Little League volunteers. All leagues within District 28  are non-profit organization (501) (c)(3) and are incorporated with the California Secretary of State.

Responsibilities of the District Administrator (DA) and the district staff (ADAs):

The D.A. has been elected by the League Presidents to serve the operational needs of the district and is expected to understand the tasks that must be accomplished to move the district forward.

The Role of the District Administrator:

The D.A. is the liaison between the local leagues, the regional center, and Little League International.

Appointing Staff Assistant District Administrators (ADAs) :

No D.A. is expected to manage a District without help. It is important to choose wisely, selecting volunteers to serve on the District Staff. The District staff is appointed by the DA and whenever possible will be made up of at least one representative from each of the 8 leagues under the district jurisdiction. The staff will have responsibilities as directed by the DA to handle and assist local leagues with any issues or concerns that may arise.

The District Administrator’s goal is to provide quality leadership and oversight for the district. This is best done by cultivating an open line of communication with each local League President and the league’s Board of Directors. Part of the service element of the District Administrator is to be responsive to concerns and inquiries of each local league in the district as well as the Regional Center. This is probably one of the most overlooked, but important responsibilities of the District Administrator. This responsiveness extends beyond regularly scheduled district meetings. It is not the responsibility of the DA or the ADAs to run any of the local leagues. We are simply here to insure that the local leagues run accordingly within the scope of the Little League operating process and the local league constitution and bylaws.

The International Tournament is another critical component of the Little League® program. It would be impossible to conduct the number of games in the number of divisions without the help of the District Administrators and staffs. Their role in the tournament is crucial. Responsible for the preparation, administration, guidance, and oversight at the district, and/or section and state levels as assigned, the District Administrator provides a valuable service to the leagues and community.

This website serves as a resource center for the league presidents, their officers, and the general membership in California District 28. Our district mission is to teach all children lifelong lessons and to teach leadership through the great game of Little League Baseball. Most of all we want our kids to have fun and enjoy this great game.
